Job Description

The Project Manager: Science Engineering and Technology will Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects related to the storage of nuclear materials. This includes ensuring that all operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards, managing project budgets and timelines, coordinating with stakeholders, and leading a team to achieve project objectives efficiently and safely. The role requires a strong focus on risk management, quality control, and continuous improvement to ensure the planning for secure and effective storage of nuclear materials.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track project progress against milestones and objectives, adjusting as necessary to stay on schedule.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports on project status, challenges, and achievements to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project finances, ensuring costs are controlled and expenditures align with budgetary constraints.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure all project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise impact on the project timeline and budget.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective communication and coordination among all project members, management and stakeholders.
  • Guide, motivate and manage a project team to achieve specific goals and objectives of a project and of the organisation.
  • Delegate tasks, set deadlines, monitor performance, and provide support and guidance to project team members.
  • Act as a coach, facilitator and communicator, ensuring the project team works effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of the project and of the organisation.
  • Ensure all activities comply with nuclear safety regulations and environmental standards to maintain legal and safety standards.
  • Ensures all projects adheres to laws, regulations and ethical standards.
  • Cooperate with the Compliance Management Division in developing and implementing compliance programmes, conducting project audits, and providing training to maintain a culture of compliance.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including government bodies, local communities, and industry partners, to foster collaboration and address concerns on projects.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals or groups who have an interest in a project or organisation.
  • Identify project stakeholders, understand their needs and expectations, and develop strategies to effectively engage with them.
  • Manage communication, resolve conflicts and ensure that project stakeholders are informed and involved in relevant project activities
  • Prioritise safety in all project activities, promoting a culture of safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ensure a safe environment by monitoring, evaluating and improving safety practices and compliance with regulations on all project activities.
  • Conduct audits, provide training and develop safety programmes.
