CHIEF EXECUTIVE’S OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW OF THE ORGANISATIONAL PERFORMANCE OF THE PUBLIC ENTITY
During the 2025/26 financial year, NRWDI achieved 100%
of its planned annual performance targets as approved
in the APP. Performance outcomes were monitored
through established governance and reporting structures,
including monthly management oversight and quarterly
performance reviews as well as oversight by the Board and
its subcommittees.
For the eighth consecutive year, NRWDI received an
unqualified audit outcome from the Auditor-General
of South Africa (AGSA). This audit outcome reflects
sustained compliance with the Standards of Generally
Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP), the Public
Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations,
and applicable legislative and regulatory frameworks. The
AGSA considered internal controls relevant to the audit
engagement and did not identify any significant defficiencies.
The organisation continues to strengthen a culture
of accountability, ethical leadership, transparency, and
consequence management. These values are embedded
through policies, performance management systems,
and continuous monitoring. They support NRWDI’s
commitment to sound corporate governance in line with
the King V principles.
